Will this comic book end? Obviously eventually. Repentance ended. The Refining Fire ended. The NROP Glasses ended. The Christmas Present ended. So it makes senses that The Rise of Nothing will end too. But the question is, who will make the call, the comic book's creator or comic book minor characters like Jimmy McRich? I guess you can subscribe to find out. Most people don't even know that the comic book exists so perhaps it still deserves a longer run.

If Jimmy McRich and Rent-the-Gospel Ministries bear any resemblance to Prosperity Gospel congregations and preachers that is purely accidental. But one has to admire those in the pews of Prosperity Gospel megachurches on their steadfast faith and loose wallets. Most peoples' financial Spidey sense has to start some serious tingling when they see their cash going via conveyor belt to the preacher's private vault. Their faith, though, remains apparently calm and unshaken. At one time, Oral Roberts warned that God was going to take him quickly to an untimely reward if he couldn't raise 8 million dollars by a certain date. No lack of faith here, but perhaps a lack of discernment The Bible urges us: "be not afraid" (over 365 times in fact) and also to trust in the Lord, but doesn't promise us money or ample winnings in life's wealth lottery.

When it comes to predictions of the end of world, these are like confetti at a wedding. It matters little if it hits its mark, its main purpose is for an electrifying party atmosphere. The Jehovah Witnesses have survived many (1878, 1881, 1914, 1918, 1925 and1975) inaccurate apocalyptical predictions. Greta Thunberg deleted a 2018 tweet predicting inevitable climate apocalypse by 2023 unless humanity completely stopped using fossil fuels. Her status as climate scare prophetess is undiminished. "Trust the science" is still a mantra for the secularists while the science influencers of 1970's have aged out their prophecy of a civilization-destroying new ice age. Air pollution was to do it to us starting in the mid 1980's.. in 1970, Hal Lindsey wrote The Late Great Planet Earth, that timetables the Book of Revelation for the 1980's or thereabouts. Paul Ehrlich predicted overpopulation ending civilization as we know it by the late 1980's (4 billion would expire during the great die-off). The predictions have lost traction, but the anti-natalist attitudes they spawned have not, and Ehrlich's science-guru status has not suffered. So to get ahead is the modern prophecy game, truth and accuracy are optional but being scary is not. So, dear readers, Jimmy McRich's prediction may be true, or it may be just terrifying but terrifying is in! Let us remember that scary Nothingness is at the bottom of every panel, may be waiting to pounce. If that happens, it would white out The Rise of Nothing's all too brief existence.

Moving from the comic book to real life, is this the end times? Pope Francis keeps recommending we read The Lord of the World, a 1908 novel by Msgr. Robert Hugh Benson which talks about the Antichrist emerging as a charismatic leader who the masses flock to for guidance in the chaos of the times. St. Nilus (d 430 AD) predicted in the later half of the 20th century men will be indistinguishable from women in appearance and all Christian morality will be abandoned. Men will fly through the air like birds, descend to the bottom of the sea like fish, and one will discover a way to talk to another person on the other end of the earth. All the while in their comfort, mankind will still be unhappy and caught up in the deceptions of the Antichrist.

Jesus said "And whoever welcomes a little child like this in My name welcomes Me. But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. Woe to the world for the causes of sin." (Matthew 18:5-7) Recently Joe Biden called it close to sinful what was happening in Florida. Florida is where they are trying to protect minors from stumbling into irreversible operations where healthy parts of the body are replaced with fake cosmetic ones. The Biden White House is also pushing LGBTQ sex education from kindergarten on up, regardless of parental objections. If the Biden agenda continues to prevail and the ideological colonization becomes systemic, is the millstone imminent?

Some concluding thoughts to the question, is this comic book and the planet going to end very soon? One point to consider in both The Rise of Nothing and our current time, is that there perhaps hasn't been enough time for some good character development. You're starting to see what the bad guys have, they've shown us what they've got. But the forces of good haven't shown us what they've got. Good always wins in the end, but evil has to put up some sort of fight for a good story line. Let's see if the good guys have some surprises in store. Like Pope Francis says, "God is a God of surprises."
